Woodgas Crash Course #4 of 7

In this episode of our educational series the Woodgas Crash Course we tackle engine conversion. How do you make an engine run on woodgas? To unlock the full potential of wood gasification we need to put the woodgas to work. Using an off-grid backup electrical generator is probably the highest value way of doing it. The beauty of a downdraft gasifier is that it converts the stored sunlight in wood into engine fuel. This is really an unsung version of solar energy. With the sunlight stored in wood you can extract it day or night, so it provides the perfect compliment to your existing solar panels if you have them.

In this video we cover three ways to convert an engine to run on wood gas.

In our next video in the Woodgas Crash Course we cover wood (feedstock) preparation. Enjoy!
